Love The Way You Lie Part 2

Fenty, Rihanna. “Love the Way You Lie Part 2.”, n.d. Web. 6 Mar. 2011.

In their song, Rihanna and Eminem, portray the situation between couples who carry out a love-hate relation.  They demonstrate that even though there´s a lot of affection, they end up hurting each other. They also explain with phrases like “baby with out I´m nothing, hug and me then tell how ugly I am”, that no matter how difficult it is for the relation to carry on, they love each other so much, that they can never be apart. They insinuate that a person will go through any experience in order to be with the person they love and it´s clear that they will fight to always have each other: “know that no matter how many knifes we put in each other´s back, that we´ll have each other´s back…” This song has had great success and for goods reasons: it has a strong phrases “we lay in the wake of destruction” and “with out you I´m out [his mind]” which are all metaphors that the artist use to express the troubles couples commonly go through and also exposes the ironies of love.  It doesn´t make sense that people who adore each other can hurt themselves badly at times.
